A WORD OF ADVICE• Proper academic placement is essential for academic success.• Students are encouraged to pursue a challenging course of study• However, they should keep in mind that the demands of honor-level and Advanced
Placement (AP) courses are significantly higher than those of on-level courses. • Students should consider course load, extra-curricular commitments, interest level, after-
school jobs, and future goals when signing up for honors-level and AP courses. • In general, students in honors-level and AP courses should have well-balanced skills in
the subject area and a high level of enthusiasm for the subject.
