Alpha Xi Delta...continuing

to be on my mind as I begin

the second year of my term

as President of our alumnae

association.

I had the honor at this past

Founder’s Day to receive the

Order of the Rose for 50

years of membership in Al-

pha Xi Delta. Lou Ann Dix-

on, one of my pledge sisters

at Purdue, also received this

honor at the ceremony...it

certainly brought back many

memories for both of us.

As Sandi Edwards, our Na-

tional President, said in her

Founder’s Day letter…”our

Founders taught us to sup-

port one another as only

women can, to serve others

and to aim high to realize

our potential.”

These words from our

Founders have truly been

exemplified this past year for

me. The board, Rochelle

Chartier, and many in our

membership have rallied to

help with 2012-2013 pro-

grams in light of Carol

Clare’s illness. That support

and willingness to serve is

felt by all of us in our sister-

hood.

We are becoming more

involved in our National

Philanthropy, Autism Speaks.

Our Philanthropy Chairman,

Barbara Hoover, has given

much of her time and talent

to help us support Autism

Speaks. I am very grateful

for her enthusiasm.

We are looking forward to

our Sweet Charity Auction

and Brunch in October. The

co-chair ladies, Barbara Stov-

er and Barbara Vietti and

their committee are working

hard to make it the best

auction ever! Make a dona-

tion to the live auction, con-

tribute to the bake sale, vol-

unteer your time...these are

just a few ways to help.

Again, thanks for all your

support and friendship...I

treasure it!

Year candidate and Nancy

Brown as its Alumnae

Two $2500 under graduate

scholarships were awarded to

a Kappa Kappa Gamma from

the University of Colorado

and to an Alpha Phi from the

University of Denver. Our

alumnae group was one of the

top three scholarship fund

raisers! Donations were giv-

en in honor of our sister,

Carol Clare, and in memory

of Corwina Ferrell, who was a

DAP delegate for 17 years.

DAP has supported New Gar-

ment Always (earlier named

Needle work Guild) for eighty

years. Over 20 agencies in

the Denver Metro Area have

benefitted from the donations

of new clothing. Alpha Xi

Delta, once again, was one of

the top three in donations!

the supplies were delivered to

the Bansbach Academy, an on
