Alpha-Activation Overview
Alpha-Activation SolutionIllegal Copying Patterns
Authentication Process
The most common way of copying CD illegally is to use some burning software tools to duplicate the contents of CD.
1. Duplicate Software by various Cracking Tools
2. One single serial number used by multiple users
In software industry, it has been always a critical issue to stop one serial number being used by multiple users.
Reverse Engineering patch program or le can nullify copy protection by forcing to skip the authentication routine process.
3. Nullify copy protection by cracking or hacking tools
Illegally copied software will not be functioning properly without completing authentication routine process.
Activation server allows software company to limit the number of times users can register their serial number or the number of days they can use the software. Also, software company can check the status of entire serial numbers registered on the server.
Anti-Crack (Crack Proof) is applied in the middle of encryption process so that it is almost impossible to make a cracking algorithm.

Alpha-Activation is an online authentication system designed to protect customer’s valuable data from illegal copy or distribution of the data. Basic principle of this system is to request a user to provide a given serial number (found in disc case) when the user tries to run software. Especially, for those clients who need to provide powerful copy protection solution to protect their valuable contents through online authentication process, Alpha-Activation is highly recommended as clients are able to choose and apply various restrictive options (Limited times or days for execut-ing) by interacting with online activation server. Also, Alpha-ROM solution can be combined with Alpha-Activation so that it can deliver even more enhanced copy protection solution.
Due to the vulnerable nature of software itself, it will never be safe from illegal copy attempts. Once it gets copied, it is obvious that the software will be distributed across the internet innumerably without any restrictions. In order to cope with this critical problem, SETTEC developed and introduced an on-line server system designed to manage license le on the Internet. How it works is that the Activation server requires users of registering a serial number of software on the server so that the server can activate and manage the software in real time with applying various copy protections and authentication process.
