A  longstanding  distribution  service      

For  over  100  years,  London  City  Bond  has  been  Britain’s  leading   privately   owned   tax   warehousing   company,  offering   the   wine   and   spirit   trade   a   comprehensive  nationwide   logistics   service.   Operating   in   excess   of  1,000,000   sq.   ft.   of   bonded   storage   space   and   21  individual  warehouses;  the  multi-­‐million  pound  company  boasts  a  first  class  reputation  for  providing  a  distribution  service  to  more  than  900  wine,  beer  and  spirit  merchants.  

Back   in   the   1980s,   London   City   Bond   used   their   own  internal  transport  within  England  and  Wales,  but  needed  to   expand   into   Scotland.   They   sought   a   reliable   storage  and  distribution  facility  rolled  into  one,  with  a  high  level  of  service  to  the  end  user.  Few  logistics  companies  would  entertain   their   drivers’  hand-­‐delivering   cases   directly   to  recipients’   cellars,   but   then   again,   Gordon   Leslie   Group  isn’t  most  companies.

Not  just  to  the  door  but  beyond    For  approximately  30  years,  London  City  Bond  has  employed  Gordon  Leslie  Group  on  an  on-­‐going  basis,  renting   their   bonded   warehouse   in   Hillington   and   utilising   their   distribution   force   to   deliver   alcohol  throughout  Scotland;  transporting  wines  and  spirits  to  pubs,  clubs,  hotels  and  more  on  a  daily  basis.  

The  service  level  supplied  is  exceptionally  detailed,  as  all  Gordon  Leslie  Group  drivers  must  know  all  delivery  points  and  the  most  convenient  times  for  each  destination.  Particular  challenges  include  insuring  all  deliveries  are  on  time,  especially  at  peak  times  like  Christmas,  and  the  fact  that  they  must  transport  the  goods  not  just  to  the  door  but  beyond  (e.g.  the  cellar).
