University Council, 1986-87

The I University Council exists to considei he actactiv-

ities of the I University broadl in allofitsphaseswith

particular attention to the educational objectoes of

the I nisersits and those matters that attect the com-

moninterests of lacult and students. It recommends

general policies and otherwise ads ises the president.the pros ost andother officers of the Uni%ersit%. It is

ernpoered to initiate policy proposals as nell as to

express its judgment on those submitted to it h the

administratise otticers of the I nisersit\ and its sar-

bus academic disisions. It is also empowered to

request information through appropriate channels

from an member of the I nisersitv administration.

An member of the Inisersit ma\ suggest ques-tions or proposals for the consideration of the Uni-

sersit\ Council b submitting them in riting to the

Steering Committee addressed to the Office of the

Secretar.College Hall. An member of the Iniser-

sit\ ma he asked to serve on committees of the

t'niscrstt Council.
