The Allstar Alert
At the end of every class, what are the students saying when they all speak together, in unison, with the instructor? The students know...but, I wonder if their parents do?
Each class ends in a routine, disciplined manner, where the students, as a group, recite the “tenets of taekwondo”. These five tenets are values and character traits every martial artist tries hard to live up to, in the studio and out of the studio.
These very important five words are:
COURTESY
INTEGRITY
PERSEVERANCE
SELF CONTROL
INDOMITABLE SPIRIT
These five words have quite an impact on everything that takes place in the studio. The instructors help to instill the values represented by each of these words, in each and every student. The students are taught, in any given situation, during class, what those words mean. If a child is trying hard, doing his/her best and not giving up, no matter how tough that board is to break — Mr. Lord tells him/her that their perseverance is outstanding. When a more experienced student is sparring with a less experienced student, and shows great self control in their technique and strength, we remind them that they utilized excellent self control during that sparring match.
Little by little, bit by bit, the students see and learn what these valuable five words mean. Parents, you can help by encouraging your child to demonstrate these tenets outside of the studio...at home and at school. The benefits to teaching these core values are far reaching and will serve your child through his/her lifetime.

These students must demonstrate exceptional listening skills, willingness
to lead and assist others in class, and must show an overall positive attitude.

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!
TAEKWONDO WORD SEARCH
Students and parents,
We, here at Allstar Martial Arts Academy, would like to say “Thank You” for all of your support. Your commitment to your (or your child’s) martial arts training is what helps to make our studio a success. We strive to provide the best possible facility, equipment, and instruction for our students, because that is what each and every student deserves. If you did not feel that you (or your child) were receiving excellent training at Allstar Martial Arts, then you probably would not be members of our studio. Your continued membership shows us that you value the training that you (or your child) receive(s). It is a great compliment to see each student learn and grow, in his/her training abilities, and in his/her character. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you. Thank you!
The greatest compliment is a referral! We certainly still have room for growth...so feel free to refer your friends and family members! Referrals help to keep us open AND they are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jack and Jodi Lord
