TheOntarioplantislocatedintheChinoBasin,asubsetofthelargerSantaAnaRiverWatershed.ThecatchmentfortheOntariofacilityisapproximately286,000acres,containedwithinthelargerSantaAnawatershed(1.084millionacres).ThecatchmentincludesthesmallerChinoandCucamongagroundwaterbasins.Theplantcanreceivewaterfromuptosixdifferentsprings,althoughonlyoneofthese(DeerCanyon)islocatedwithinthecatchment.Themajorityofthecatchmentitselfisadevelopedurbanlandscape.
DescriptionofOperationsTheNWNAOntarioplantisawaterbottlingfacility,producingbottledwaterproductsunderthebrandnamesofArrowheadMountainSpringWater,NestléPureLifeandGerber.Thegeographicscopeofthesiteislimitedtothepropertyboundaryofthefacility.Thefacilityitselfislocatedinanurbanindustrialsetting.Waterforthebottlingfacilitycomesfromseveralsources,includinganon-sitegroundwaterwelltoproducebottledpurifiedwater,andspringwaterdeliveredbypipeortruckfromoneofseveralregionalsprings,bothinsideandoutsideofthecatchment.
