Complex Fraction: Fractions in fractions son!
Steps:
1) Factor all numerators and denominators completely
2) Find LCD of all terms!!!
3) Multiply each term by LCD
4) Simplify
Example 1
Steps:
1) Simplify both the numerator and the denominator to single rational expressions (add or subtract them)
2) Multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator (this is really just a division problem!)
3) Simplify if possible

Write your own complex fraction using just numbers (no variables) and solve!
The complex number should have both an adding and a subtracting component (one in the numerator and one in the denominator)
Thinking Deeply.....
Think on your own for 30 seconds. You may refer to your notes, steps and examples. Then I will ask students to respond to the class.
