By providing this basic information about a client, you’ll be able to obtain their quote. The accuracy of

this initial quote will depend on whether your client has medical conditions, avocations or an

occupation to disclose. For more information, please refer to the next section in this guide.

4.2 Disclosures

You can disclose medical conditions, dangerous hobbies and occupations.

4.2.1 Medical disclosures

You can look for medical conditions by typing the name in the They have search box, and Spectra

will show you the available options.

Page 9: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

Once you select the relevant condition, if there are any additional questions needed to provide a

quote, a details tab will open at the bottom of the page for you to complete.

Please note that you are not required to fill out the details tab completely, you can get results with

partial information, as it will return the different possible outcomes for the information provided.

You can disclose multiple conditions, and different tabs will populate for each condition that needs

further details.

If you selected a condition in error, to delete it from the They Have box, simply click the X icon that

appears next to it.

User experience for medical disclosures

When a medical disclosure is made, a details tab opens, and it can have two different ways of

gathering additional information. It can display in the form of a script or as a list of questions.

Script

With this display, a script populates in the details tab and you’re prompted to fill in the blanks.

List of questions

With this display, a list of questions appear in the details tab. You’ll be prompted to select the relevant

options from drop-down menus or enter values in the input boxes.

4.2.2 Avocational disclosures (Dangerous hobbies)

You can add an avocation by clicking into the They do box, then:

• Scroll down though the listing and select the relevant avocation.

OR

5 Getting a quote and obtaining underwriting results

Once you have entered the basic quote information about your client in Spectra, you can review the

Current Quote Summary and obtain their underwriting results.

5.1 Current Quote Summary

The Current Quote Summary section appears on the left-hand side of your Spectra screen. It displays

all the information that you have disclosed about your client in a conversational way.

To obtain your client’s underwriting results, you must click the GET QUOTE button.

Page 14: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

5.2 Underwriting results

Once you click the GET QUOTE button, the results update at the top of the Spectra page. Various

possible underwriting outcomes can appear as it is dependent on the information disclosed.

The spectrum of results is available at a glance for each product. It tells how likely each outcome is

as indicated by the height of the triangles. It also indicates on the right, any extra steps that may be

needed in the underwriting steps. For example, Evidence needed, if applicable, or Referrals to

Underwriter (RUW).

5.2.1 Interpreting results

In this example, we disclosed two conditions but didn’t provide any additional information in their

associated details tab, so the results section is displaying all the possible combination of outcomes

that could result based on the information provided.

In this case, the client could have a moderate or mild rating, depending on the risk type, be standard

or preferred tobacco or have a small probability of being referred to an underwriter.

5.2.2 Rating details

In the top right-hand corner of the Spectra screen, you will find a Ratings Details switch.

When a ‘High’, ’Moderate’ or ‘Mild Rating’ is shown as an underwriting outcome, you can turn this

switch on to see the rating details. This will show the possible ratings depending on the answers

provided in the disclosures.

Page 15: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

5.2.3 RUW

The RUW bar on the right-hand side of the results screen, will show the probability of needing an

underwriter to review in order to get a result.

The length of the blue bar will be proportional to the probability; meaning the longer the bar, the

higher the probability of an underwriter review being needed.

Request Underwriter Review

If the blue bar is full, a “REQUEST UNDERWRITER REVIEW” button is available.

To request an underwriter review:

1. Click on “REQUEST UNDERWRITER REVIEW”

2. Add any additional information and click SEND.

This will send an email to an underwriter.

Page 16: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

5.2.4 Evidence

The Evidence bar on the right-hand side of the results screen, will show the probability of additional

evidence, if applicable, being needed to get an underwriting result.

The length of the bar will be proportional to the probability; meaning the longer the bar, the higher the

probability.

An empty evidence bar means that no additional evidence is needed for an underwriting result.

5.3 Updating a quote, and narrowing your results

Once you have the initial quote for a client, if you haven’t already done so, you can provide more

information for any unanswered questions in the medical disclosure tabs and narrow your results.

In the example below, we’ve provided more information in the Asthma condition tab. Even though the

tab is only partially answered, the underwriting outcomes have narrowed.

Page 17: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

The new results have narrowed the possible rating options, it removed the probability of a moderate

rating and now present a probability of mild rating and standard tobacco, based on the information

provided. It also shows a probability of being referred to an underwriting, this is due to the Broken

Bones disclosure still being unanswered.

If we proceed to answer all the questions for Asthma, we will obtain an even narrower result.

Page 18: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

Once we’ve inputted all the desired information, we can update the quote by clicking on the UPDATE

QUOTE button which is located at the bottom right-hand corner of the Spectra screen.

After updating the quote, it goes down to displaying a probable outcome of a Standard Tobacco or

RUW.

Page 19: ALLFINANZ Spectra user guide

If we move to the Broken Bones disclosure, and answer the questions, you can see that we’ve ended

up with one probable underwriting outcome of Standard Tobacco.

out of Spectra completely.

Please don’t manually refresh the page, as Spectra will reload and remove any previous answers
