Early Life

•Father owned car dealerships and mother was a teacher.

•His Mother was the one who got him interested in sports particularly baseball.

•Grew up a fan of the Cubs and minor league Milwaukee Brewers

•Huge Fan of Braves once they came to Milwaukee.

Getting Milwaukee a Team

•Soon after Bud made a name for himself in his fathers business he bought stock in the Braves.

•Became crushed when the Braves left for Atlanta and sold all of his stock

•Began to find a way to get pro baseball back to Milwaukee and started “Teams inc.” dedicated to finding a team to replace the Braves

•Bought the Seattle Pilots and brought the club to Milwaukee

Being a Owner / Commissioner

•Within 5 years the Brewers had won the American League and won back to back organization of the year.

•Soon other owners decided it was time to replace the current commissioner and in 1992 Bud was elected acting Commissioner

•Had to end his ownership of the Brewers due to conflicts of interest but kept it in the family with his daughter.
