Prayers for the ChurchAnglican Church in North America: Bishop Kevin Bond Allen, his wife Stefanie, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Cascadia in the Pacific Northwest.

The first formation meeting for the new diocese was held in February 2009. Eight Episcopal parishes and their rectors were present, along with Bishop Richard Boyce of the Reformed Episcopal Church. After elections of clergy and lay representatives, the formal application was made for the inauguration of a new diocese, to be called the Diocese of Cascadia. Bishop Boyce was elected as the Vicar General, and Rector Kevin Bond Allen as the president of the Diocesan Council. Later that year, the diocese was one of the founding members of the ACNA in June 2009.

In 2011, Fr. Kevin Allen was consecrated as the first bishop. From the initial eight parishes, the diocese has now grown to 22 congregations in three states: Alaska (1), Oregon (4), and Washington (17). The see city is Bremerton, Washington. The diocese, located in what has been called the most unchurched region of the United States, is very active in church plantings and missions. (Sources: Diocesan website and Wikipedia.)

Please pray especially for the diocese’s Veterans Ministry and for church planting.

Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes: Fr. Allen Kannapell, Fr. Greg McComas, and the people of His Church Anglican, Livonia, Michigan.

Parish Cycle of Prayer: Pat Linder; Didi Loseth; the Senior Saints Small group; and the Encountering Jesus Conference coming up May 3 and 4.

Have a prayer request?Email your prayer requests to [email protected], fill out the online form at standrewspolaris.org, under the “Scripture & Prayer” drop-down menu, or place them in the prayer box in the Narthex.

The event is in partnership with St. Luke’s Anglican Church of Copley, Ohio, which has a long history of welcoming and seeing significant movements of the Lord in their midst. While no one has a monopoly on God’s presence or activity, some parishioners from St. Luke’s are coming to share how they’ve seen God move, and in partnership with the St. Andrew’s prayer team, we’ll ask God to reveal his voice, his heart, and his hand in and for people seeking him here.

Friday’s session will be from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday’s session, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no cost to attend the conference, but a free-will offering is welcome.

For further information, please contact Ann Schnapp, Prayer Team leader, at [email protected] or 614-890-5896, or Fr. Wil Verhoff, Prayer Team member, at 614-337-8278 or [email protected].

It’s all about relationship. Come join us! It’s all about relationship. Come join us!

have been married on a Sunday morning within the context of the Holy Eucharist, including Fr. Ron and Judy Baird, 25 years ago this July, and Dan and Robin Field, a year later in June. The marriage ceremony takes place during the Liturgy of the Word, in much the same way that we do baptisms.

A reception will be held during Coffee Hour between next week’s Sunday morning services. If you’ll be attending the Saturday night service or the 11:15 a.m. Sunday service, plan to stop in for cake and coffee, and to join us extending our congratulations and well-wishes to Fr. Wil and Cindy as they begin their new life together.

Go & Grow opportunities for youth St. Andrew’s youth will participate in the CONVERGE Youth Event this Sunday, April 28.

CONVERGE is a quarterly event for the youth of Delaware County, which is coordinated by area youth pastors. When our parish joined in 2018, we were the tenth church to participate. At our last gathering, 15 churches had taken part. At the next gathering 18 area churches will be participating! God is on the move!

When our youth gather they create memories as they have fun with one another, hear the truth of who God says they are in Christ, his Son, and as they worship our Father for his goodness and love for them.

Youth and parents, who should have received an email from Fr. Shane Tucker this past week with details about the CONVERGE gathering, are reminded to meet at the church by 5:20 p.m. to carpool if you need a ride. Youth will return around 8:30 p.m., and parents should there to collect their students at that time. Questions? Contact Fr. Shane at [email protected] or 740-548-5112 ext. 4.

Two other opportunities for youth are in the works:

• The ACNA 2019 Provincial Youth Gathering (PYG) will take place June 17-22 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria in Dallas, Texas. Come spend an incredible week following Jesus in our uniquely Anglican way doing what the early church did: Celebrating the Eucharist together, encountering the living God in the praises of his people, devoting ourselves to the teachings of the apostles through challenging talks and Bible study, and serving the world that he loves. Fr. Shane is in discussion with our Diocesan office about coordinating a caravan of interested young people and leaders to travel to the this event together.

• Youth are planning a return trip to the ALIVE Christmas Music Festival in eastern Ohio July 19-21.

Watch your email and “The Net” for further details of both of these incredible opportunities!

He is Risen!

Alleluias abounded, and the Cross of Christ was central as we celebrated the joyous Feast of the Resurrection

last Sunday, because death could not hold him. Alleluia! He is risen. He is risen indeed!

Clockwise, from upper left, worshippers at the 9 a.m. service fill the Sanctuary; Fr. Ron celebrates the Eucharist; a little one peeks over dad Jay Jordan’s shoulder during the 11:15 a.m. service; Fr. Shane Tucker and son; and a reunion of several of our former acolytes, including Kyle Sterling (second from left), son of Bill and Debbie, and his wife Vernonica (left), Kara McNelis Atkinson (center) and Daniel McNelis (second from right), children of Janet McNelis, and Kara’s husband Steve (right).
