Senior Scholarship Night

○ Friday, June 14th at 7pm.■ Seniors that will be

recognized will receive invitations to attend on this evening.

○ Local Scholarships provide OHHS names of the recipients

○ You are responsible to provide us scholarship information from colleges and state or national organizations

Senior Checkout Process

○ Checkout Form will be received on June 3rd during advisory if fines are cleared■ If you miss school see your Advisor upon return■ Senior checkout day is June 12th ■ Teachers have discretion on when they will sign the checkout form and may wait until

the 12th. ○ All fines must be cleared prior to checkout.

● Return School Property: library books, textbooks, athletic uniforms and equipment, ROTC uniforms, Band/Choir uniforms, and any other equipment.

○ Cleared once school property is returned and/or costs reimbursed ○ Make Life easier for you and staff → return equipment and pay fines ASAP

Checkout Day | June 12th

○ Seniors must complete checkout forms and return them to counseling by 1 pm on June 12, 2019 to be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony.

○ June 12th will be the day in which the teachers, library, food service, ASB office and counseling will put the final stamp of approval on you for eligibility to be presented to the community of Oak Harbor as meeting graduation requirements.

Running Start Students

○ You will receive an email with a progress report attached. Since Skagit Valley College transcripts come to us after graduation, students will have their professors sign off that they are in good standing and will pass their Running Start courses to be eligible for commencement.

○ Progress report from SVC is due to the HS counseling department no later than 3pm on June 3, 2019.

○ May 16th - Prom Guest Forms due by 3:00pm (No Exceptions)

○ May 18th - Prom 9:00 pm-12:00 am (ID required with ticket(s) at the door for all attending Prom)

Expectations for Walking Graduates

Expectations for Walking Graduates

● Expectations○ Caps and gowns must remain decoration free. Leis and flowers

are okay within reason. ○ Graduation is a formal event, students are expected to have dress

shoes and slacks or dresses under their graduation gowns. We cannot permit heels on the track so wedges, flats, and dress shoes are the required footwear.

○ If you come in jeans, flip flops, heels, or athletic shoes you will be expected to change to show respect for this formal event.

○ If you arrive under the influence or in possession of alcohol or other illegal substance, you will be excluded from the ceremony.

Diploma pick up

● Diploma Pickup○ Graduates may pick up diplomas immediately

following graduation. Otherwise they will be available for pickup during Registrar’s summer hours.

Note: ● Diplomas are only mailed if prior

arrangements are made by the graduate and only graduates may sign for diplomas.

● Running Start students will not be able to pick up diplomas until July.

Finishing Strong

● Finishing Strong○ The graduation ceremony is a privilege and the opportunity for the

school to celebrate this milestone with families. ○ This is the moment in which the school presents students that have

fulfilled graduation requirements to the Oak Harbor community. This is a time for families to show pride in you and we expect good decorum as you are presented for graduation. We want the event to go smoothly and be pleasant for all involved, so please be clear about our expectations of you and represent your family well.

○ Make good decisions down the home stretch to graduation. In the past, we have had discipline issues and vandalism or Senior pranks that have stopped Seniors from participating in graduation. Don’t let this be you!
