“Each lake here at White Acres is a complex ecosystem, just like all waterways. So we’re making this change to protect them. When we do things like this, it’s either for the wellbeing of the fish, anglers safety or the protection of the complex and its delicate habitat.” says Clint! We want everyone to enjoy their White Acres experience and return for years to come, which is why a decision has been made for the enjoyment of all our anglers and holidaymakers.Clint continued, “I want the lakes here to offer the best fishing, for as long as possible, and when something potentially threatens that, action needs to be taken.

There’s no denying that fluorescent liquids or baits have caught fish here at the complex, but with there being no long-term proof or evidence of their effect I simply cannot allow anglers, in large numbers, to put any quantity of it into our lakes.”

Pat’s Pool Lake focus:

White Acres

Pat’s Pool is one of our two specimen lakes. We’ve got Carp ranging from 15lb to 33lb, and Catfish weighing up to an impressive 74lbs – and they take boilies so watch out! Take your pick from 22 pegs around the lake spread over 2.2 acres. There are four islands to fish, along with numerous bars and other underwater features.

Heavy feeding tends to put the fish off, so a gentle approach is needed to try and outwit them. Little and often works best, with good quality boilies, meat and large pellets.Check out the weekly specimen log on our White Acres Fisheries page, where the fisheries team will keep you updated on how the specimen lakes are doing, what baits are working and what fish are being caught by our guests. Catfish have an elongated scale-less body, with a strong upper body and a laterally flattened tail. The upper side is usually dark in colour with the flanks paler. Pat’s Pool has at least five Catfish weighing over 60lbs and the biggest now weighs in at a whopping 74lbs.

Q: JoHN IoNS ASkS: Can I ask your advice, are you allowed to use the Guru Semi Fixed elasticated method feeders in the resident and rover matches or have the feeders got to be fully free running?

A: CLINT’S ANSWERS: Hi John, all feeders are free running to a bead and not a swivel. The Guru X Safe work very well but if we allowed elasticated feeders all types would be used. The easy answer is to use free running method or scope feeders.

Q: HAYLEY & LEIGH WALLACE ASk: Hi, I’m coming to White Acres for a week’s holiday, can you tell me the difference between an adult pleasure pass and an adult gold pass?

A: CLINT’S ANSWERS: Hi Hayley and Leigh. An adult pleasure pass covers fishing for all the pleasure lakes and the adult gold pass also covers the specimen lakes.
