The Sacrament of Reconciliation: Confessions are heard each week on Saturday at the Church (SR #46) from 3:45pm to 4:45pm Learn more about this beautiful sacrament by visiting our website: www.allsoulssanford.org/reconciliation The Sacrament of Baptism: Call the parish office to learn the necessary requirements and make an appointment with Father Kenneth Metz to have your child baptized. Ask us about the requirements for Godparents. The Sacrament of Marriage: Getting married? Congratulations! The process of being married in the Catholic Church could take between 6 months to a year to complete. Please contact Ann Cammarata at the parish office as soon as possible after your engagement if you would like to be married at All Souls Catholic Church. Anointing of the Sick: Please call the parish office. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. Did you know that the Sacrament may be repeated if the person becomes sick again? A person should be anointed before surgery when a dangerous illness is the reason for the intervention. Eucharistic Ministry to the Sick and Homebound: If you are unable to attend Mass, please call the parish office so we may assist you in having a visit from one of our ministers or one of our priests. Catholic Funeral and Burial: Please call the parish office or have the funeral home director contact us to arrange the Funeral Mass and for more information about burial at All Souls Catholic Cemetery. Our Online Homilies: If you missed Mass over the weekend you may view the homily by visiting: www.allsoulssanford.org

St. Michael ’s Ministry

"Now there were some Greeks among those who had come to worship at the feast. They came to Philip and asked him, 'Sir, we would like to see Jesus.'" It has begun. News of Jesus has spread beyond native-born, Aramaic-speaking Jews. We don't know if the Greeks mentioned here heard of Jesus from fellow travelers or if news of this intriguing rabbi had reached all the way to their home. What we do know is that this interaction spurred an interesting comment from Jesus: "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified." In other words, it has begun. The time has come for the message to move beyond the geographic bounds of Israel. But what does this message require? The Gospel is clear: "he said this indicating the kind of death he would die." A grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies to its life as only a seed. A caterpillar takes on the appearance of temporary death in order to transform into a butterfly. In the Gospels, sacrifice and death are a way of becoming something more than you were before. This Lent, new life can come from our sacrifices. When we enter into the season with Jesus, our difficulties can transform our perspective. "Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit." As we abstain from meat and fast from eating between meals, we can grow in compassion for the hungry. We can give alms of our time, sacrificially spending time with the lonely, the sick, and the marginalized. Our little Lenten "deaths" - death to unnecessary preferences, death to selfish living, death to ignorance of other's pain - can bring new life to the world long after the season is over. This is the invitation this Sunday and every Lenten season, to begin anew from death to life. LPI, Inc.

Las Siete palabras de Jesús nos dice una historia de sufrimientos de Jesús durante sus últimas horas en Calvario cumpliendo con su misión. Él habla de perdón, misericordia, amor, abandono, sufrimiento, realización y entrega total a Dios. Únase a nosotros mientras

Jesus’ Seven Last Words tell us a story of Jesus’ sufferings during His last hours in Calvary while fulfilling His mission. He speaks about forgiveness, mercy, love, abandonment, suffering, accomplishment and total surrender to God. Join us as we reflect on Jesus’ 7 Last Words at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 26 in the Historic Chapel. Together let us meditate on our individual crosses and trust that amidst our sufferings, God is always there for us, as we too are called to be present for each other.

Looking ahead. . .
