MUSICIAN SPOTLIGHTMarilyn Anderson

Marilyn Anderson is our featured musician this show; she played her first show with us in 1971 for “Fiddler On The Roof” . It all began back in 1955—she fell in love with musical theatre when she saw Mary Martin in “Peter Pan” on TV . A few years later, her sister got the cast recordings

of “West Side Story” and “The Sound Of Music” . She thought how clever ‘Do-Re-Mi’ was—she could learn music that way!!! She was only 7 at the time, but she took up violin hoping that she might one day play in one of these magical productions . Her chance came in 1969 when she played her first show, “West Side Story” and she loved it . Since then she’s done many shows, 16 for WVLO, mostly playing the violin (including two onstage stints as the Fiddler in “Fiddler . . .Roof”) . She has also played guitar and most recently the viola . Throw in the occasional mandolin, recorder and percussion instrument and that pretty much covers her career . We are so proud and grateful to have this versatile musician in our pit!!
