Students were tested on State, National, and World geography. Our school champion won an amazing trophy. Second and third place winners received a medal. All finalists did an amazing job and received a certificate of recogni- tion for being their classroom champion. February’s Character Education Trait Leadership, Initiative and Teamwork It’s time for our 5th Annual PTO paper drive to help ALL classrooms. The paper drive will run from January 30th to February 10th. The class that collects the most reams of paper in their grade level will win $40.00 for their classroom. Paper can be dropped off in the morning to our NEHS students and parent volunteers at the front or back of the school. You may also drop paper off to the office anytime during the day. Thank you for your continued support to Raymond Case! Cougars ROAR! Dear Parents and Guardians, Our second trimester comes to an end at the end of this month. We will have Minimum Days for parent/ student conferences from Tuesday, March 7 th – 10 th . Our teachers will be setting up conferences for all of our new students as well as some continuation conferences from the fall for students who are not performing to the grade level standards. The forms with dates and times will be sent home during the end of February. If you have a need for a conference, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher. On-going communication and a partner- ship with your child’s teacher are contributing factors for your child’s success in the spring. Please continue to encourage your child to use the Lexia Core5 program at home. Our teachers have noticed many students make tremendous gains with their reading foundational skills from using this program. Be- sides Lexia Core 5, encourage your child to read or be read to for a minimum of 20 minutes each night. Stu- dents in grades 1 – 6 are encouraged to take Reading Counts quizzes following completing each book. We’ll be announcing our Reading Counts awards during our Trimester 2 assemblies on March 10th. If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress or accessing the program, please contact your child’s teacher. We value your partnership in your child’s education. ATTENTION: 6TH Grade Parents

EGUSD needs documentation of whooping cough booster shot for your child BEFORE the start of the 2017-2018 school year. A DTap, Tdap or DTP immunization on or after age 7 will meet this require-ment.

Please bring in proof of immunization to the Ray-mond Case School office before Friday, May 26th in order for your child’s immunization records to be up to date with their future middle school. We appreci-ate your support.
