All for each tinonee-p.schools.nsw.edu.au Principal – Karen Austin Term 1 Week 8 18 th March , 2021 A fabulous week at Tinonee Public School. Our first school disco was held in conjunction with our P & C Annual General Meeting. Our disco was a huge success with approximately 75 students attending. A huge thank you to our staff, Ms Schneider, Mr Saville, Mrs Kelly, Mrs Butson for assisting Mrs Elliott in providing the children with such a great event. I would like to thank Kellee Coe and the outgoing committee members for their efforts in helping us maintain a bright, enthusiastic school. I know I have been fortunate to have had such wonderful support and wish you all well. Congratulations to our new P & C Office Bearers and members. We look forward to working with you all in 2021. Next Monday Mrs Johnson will be taking a small group of students to participate in a Literacy Quiz against other local schools. We wish them all the best and thank Mrs Johnson for her organisation. A reminder that although the Cross Country and Colour Explosion have been postponed due to the predicated wet weather our BBQ breakfast will still be proceeding. We look forward to seeing those that have sent an RSVP back at tomorrow at 7:30am As the weather is getting cooler a reminder that students may need to bring a school jumper to school. Please ensure that it is clearly labelled with your child’s name. Student shout outs! This weeks shout out has to go to the children who attended the disco on Tuesday night. There was some outstanding dancing and exceptional behaviour. School Breakfast Tomorrow (Friday 19 th ) is our School Breakfast. Please come along and join us for bacon and egg rolls under the COLA near the Library from 7.30am – 8.30am. We are looking forward to catching up with you all. School Cross Country and Colour Explosion Unfortunately our school Cross Country and Colour Explosion have been cancelled due to the wet weather. At this stage an alternate date has yet to be determined. SRC SRC badges will be presented to the Students at next Friday’s (26 th March) Assembly. Reading Eggs/Mathletics Payments for Reading Eggs and Mathletics can made at the front office. These programs are an important part of your child’s learning and are used as part of their Reading/Math groups and also computer time. If you have not paid, your child is missing out on a valuable part of our educational resource programming. CANTEEN

Roam the Rooms KH have been writing informative Sentences. In particular, students have been writing about possums, ducks and wombats as well as including a Capital to start, high frequency sight words, sounds and a full stop. 1S this week have been learning about 2D shapes. We are making a shape booklet and the class is very excited to be Authors of their own little book. 1/2R Mrs Royan is on LSL and her teaching program will be followed to provide consistency of learning. 3M have been looking at collecting data and displaying this information in graphs. Students have been working extremely well in completing these activities. 4S students have been creating ‘Zentangle’ patterns in Visual Arts. Students have done exceptionally well in spelling tests. 4/5A students have been enjoying writing information reports about Native Australian Animals with 6E. 6E A huge thank you to the Year 6 students who have returned their High School transition forms. Our ‘Antarctica’ projects are due next Friday. I will be on leave next week replaced by Mrs Johnson and the teaching and learning program will be continued.

School Disco Students had a fabulous night at the disco on Tuesday night. It was lovely to see all the fun and laughter.

Last Thursday 11th March, a mixed team travelled to the Taree Netball Courts for the NSW Netball Schools Cup Day. Our team ‘The Nettinaters ‘ played 4 games on the day and played extremely well showing teamwork, enthusiasm and respect. Well done to all students who had a go and the parents who came to show support. Mrs Martin
