All About Yarn Weekly Update June 24,2014 Thank you for supporting All About Yarn, your LYS! –Rox www.allaboutyarn.biz [email protected] 763-785-4900 http://www.ravelry.com/people/allaboutyarnshop Summer Hours…for the remainder of the summer and beginning this Friday… All About Yarn will be closed on Friday’s and close at 3pm on Saturday afternoons. Friendship Friday group will resume in September. Sunday’s remain the same. Lots of shops have summer hours and I might be a little late to the party but eventually I catch up, hehe!!! Also, we will be closed over the long 4th of July weekend, July 3-5. I know I said I was going to spread out the arrivals of new yarns this summer so we aren’t overwhelmed when trying to get everything on the shelves…but look what happened on Monday!!!! It was a monster shipment of Plymouth yarns, one of our staples for the past ten years…sometimes companies have summer stock up offers like free shipping and so I took advantage…which means we are now well stocked in all sorts of Encore, including the new Mega (sample colors below) for our giant afghan that can be knit in 10 hours or less. The shelves of Fantasy cotton used mostly for making dishcloths and dish towels has expanded by two full rows…that is, when it’s all put away they will be expanded by two. And we have ten beautiful new colors of Baby Grand Chunky Alpaca….lastly, the shelves of Galway, one of the nicest pure wools (no super wash) is fully restocked as well. As always, I’m busy knitting and finishing projects but will save all that for next week’s update.

Summer Hours…for the remainder of the summer and beginning this Friday…

All About Yarn will be closed on Friday’s and close at 3pm on Saturday afternoons.

As always, I’m busy knitting and finishing projects but will save all that for next week’s update.

4th of July….. we will be closed Friday, July 3 - Sunday, July 5.

Thank you for letting me take pictures of your finished projects each week...your willingness to share inspires others!

“Show & Tell”

Euro Blanket…this blanket has been very popular and is a free pattern. One of our resident knitters Karen, used five skeins to make this baby blanket as a gift using Simpliworsted. The pattern is easily adaptable to make larger variations so you can create the size you would like…knit until one color is finished and then start with a new color and create your own unique color combo. Susan, who is currently on a Mediterranean cruise is making a new shop sample for the shop…I think I hit the change color button when taking the picture before she left as the coloring in a bit off. We’ll see how much knitting time she actually had when she returns with her finished or maybe not finished project. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/babe-softcotton-

Tuesday morning Becky was ecstatic when she completed her Luna2 scarf using Madelinetosh Merino Light.http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/luna2

Rachelle, came in for the sale last weekend and brought along a couple of her finished projects. She used Santorini for the drop stitch scarf and Sayonara for the ridges scarf, which is usually done as a cowl but works great as a scarf too! http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ocean-waves-scarf is the pattern for the scarf.

Wednesday night Bev finished up a pair of spiral rib socks using Zauberball…no turning the heal with this type of pattern…free patten at the shop.

Thursday morning Mary enlarged the fish hat pattern by using a double strand of Encore and size 13 needles to make a baby cocoon, how cool is that! http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fish-hat-dead-or-alive

Thursday evening Bobbi brought along one of her felted Christmas stockings to match up the color for a new sock for a new grandchild. July is a wonderful month to get started on the Christmas stockings no matter what style you decide to make. I have one to get started on myself.
