All about the Consumer Electronics Show

History

International CES may sound new to you, but it actually was established in June 1967 in New York City. This show was the spinoff of the Chicago Music Show which was then responsible for holding events in consumer electronics. The first event was successfully carried out as there were 17,500 total attendees of the trade shows. Along with that, more than 100 exhibitors joined the event where Motorola Chairman, Bob Galvin, made it a lot credible. Due to the success of the event, the trade show exhibit was held twice the same year. The first two events were called the Winter Consumer Electronics Show which was held in Las Vegas and the Summer Consumer Electronics Show held in Chicago.

The rest, as they say, was history. The trade shows continued two times in a year but was canceled when the summer show in Atlanta was only

attended by 24 exhibitors. Since then, the organizers decided to only hold events once a year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
