NW District Contests —FOR SHOOTING SPORTS: Valencia County has made a couple changes to the NW District Shooting Sports Contest event.
ARCHERY CONTEST: The archery contest will take place at Hit or Miss Archery Center in Albuquerque
(2801 Broadbent Pkwy NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107). They have offered the facility to us for free. It is an indoor range
that can completely accommodate our contest needs.
RIFLE & SHOTGUN CONTESTS: The Rifle and Shotgun Contests will take place at the Albuquerque City Shooting
Range Park (16001 Shooting Range Access Rd, Albuquerque, NM 87120). This is the same range we used last year.
PRICE: Because Hit or Miss is donating their facilities, we no longer need to charge $10 per child. The new price is $5
per child.
LUNCH: Because of the lower price and the changes in location, we are no longer offering lunch for the participants.
AWARDS: We will award the Archery Contest participants at Hit or Miss Archery approximately 30 minutes after the
conclusion of the event. .22 Rifle Awards will be 30 minutes at the conclusion of the contest. Air Rifle and Shotgun
Awards will be at approximately 4:30 pm or 30 minutes at the conclusion of the last contest.
Hit or Miss Archery Center and the ABQ Shooting Range Park are about 20 minutes apart from each other.
We will work to put any participant in a morning contest and an afternoon contest in appropriate relays to accommodate
travel time between the two locations.

Monday evening will feature the guest speaker, Michael
Cuestas. Tuesday, ACES will be hosting an evening of food
and fun at Gerald Thomas Hall. ACES will be giving away
a scholarship that week to a lucky person who fills out and
turns in a provided information card.
Throughout the week a variety of workshops will be of-
fered from different departments in the college as well as
by the State 4-H Officers and Ambassadors. There will also
be contests offered to participate in. Make sure you visit

for 4-H Spirit Day. A portion of proceeds from food pur-
chases made during that time will go back to NM 4-H.
