September 25, 2009: Seattle Ferry to Port Townsend–Wine TastingAll aboard our deluxe motor coach for a fun trip across the Edmonds ferry to charming Port Townsend. Port Townsend’s most distinctive asset is its born-again Victorians- beautifully renovated 19th century homes that architectural historians consider to be the best collection north of San Fran-cisco. Because of its unique historic circumstances, the town has retained a fine collection of public and residential structures, many of which have been largely unaltered- except for recent res-toration- since the 1890’s. Today we’ll take a private walking tour of mansions that are normally closed to the public. Our local guide will spin tales about mariners, military, loggers and the ladies

September 27, 2009: Mt. Vernon–Whale Watching–San Juan Island*

After breakfast, we’re off to Anacortes for a whale watching expedition aboard Mystic Sea Charters. Experience the thrill of seeing Orca whales, California and Steller sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, dalls and harbor porpoise, gray

whales, bald eagles, pigeon guillemots, sea gulls, black oyster catchers and great blue heron in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, our sightseeing vessel will take us to Friday Harbor for a gor-geous overnight on San Juan Island. The afternoon is at leisure for you to do as you please. September 28, 2009: San Juan Island–Historic Island Tour–SeattleToday enjoy a fun tour around the island. Learn about the “Pig War” which was the last “war” fought on American soil. Hear about the pig who died for his country. See Smuggler’s Cove, Small Pox Bay, Deadman Bay, San Juan Val-ley, an Alpaca Ranch, Lavender farms and more. In the afternoon we will board the Washington State Ferry and we’ll

sail through the islands. The San Juan Islands consist of 172 islands. Enjoy spectacular views as we travel to Ana-cortes. Upon arrival our motor coach will take you back to the Westin Hotel in Seattle so you can continue your journey home.Meals included: breakfast
