To develop reading competencies and critical thinking, through the comprehension strategies that are used in the partner countries school, in the context of plurilingual and international education.
The students‘ age – 16-17 years.
LETTERS objects
To master the good experience of the
comprehension strategies that is used

strategies that are used in the partner
countries schools through analysing
informative, epic and drama texts.

To visualize the analyzed text through using various information technologies.
To present visualizations of analyzed text during the transnational training time and to discuss advantages and disadvantages of used comprehension strategies.

Responsibilities and works to do
Each school is responsible for the
organization of the particular project
stage.
The participating school will suggest not
only the text to analyze, but also the
strategies that will be applied and used by
the partnership schools.

transnational trainings and information
event for local community.
The participating school will quiz
questionnaire for school community in
order to evaluate the effect and benefit
of the project.

The participating school will also prepare the announcement for media about the results of the project (in national and English language).
The participating school will prepare the methodical recommendations of the application of text comprehension strategies (in national and English language) for the methodical publication “The Application of Comprehension Strategies: InternationalPractice”.
The work will be organizes in two levels
Level I.
The work with text and methodical
material for analysis sent from the
partners at each school that participates
in the project LETTERS. It is planned to
involve 2 – 3 classes (30 – 60 pupils).

Level II.
Work during transnational trainings. During these trainings the pupils from partnership schools work in international teams and analyze new text suggested by the host country.
There will be three transnational Learning/Teaching/Training activities: C1 in Italy, C2 in Romania, C3 in Lithuania.
A1 Stage
A1. Analysis of informative text (article,
reportage) applying text comprehension
strategies.
A1.1. School from Italy chooses informative
text written by a native writer (in English).
A1.2. School from Italy describes the text
comprehension strategies that they recommend
to use while analyzing the text.
A1 Stage
A1.3. The text and methodical recommendations
are presented (LETTERS Facebook, eTwining) to
partnership schools (Lithuania, Romania).
A1.4. The text is analyzed according to
methodology using particular text comprehension
strategies in the partnership schools (Italy,
Romania, Lithuania).
A1.5. The partnership schools (Italy, Romania,
Lithuania) prepare visual material using "Mind
map", "Concept map" or other graphic forms.
A2 Stage
A2. Analysis of epic text (story, short story,
fable) applying text comprehension strategies.
A2.1. School from Romania chooses epic text
written by a native writer (in English).
A2.2. School from Romania describes the text
comprehension strategies that they
recommend to use while analyzing the text.
A2 Stage
A2.3. The text and methodical recommendations are presented (LETTERS Facebook, eTwining) to partnership schools (Italy, Lithuania).
A2.4. The text is analyzed according to methodology using particular text comprehension strategies in the partnership schools (Italy, Romania, Lithuania).
A2.5. The partnership schools (Italy, Romania, Lithuania) prepare visual material or presentation of the epic text using Power Point and highlighting their ethic colours and cultural context.
A3 Stage
A3. Analysis of drama text (scenario, theatre
play) applying text comprehension strategies.
A3.1. School from Lithuania chooses drama
text written by a native writer (in English).
A3.2. School from Lithuania describes the text
comprehension strategies that they recommend
to use while analyzing the text.
A3 Stage
A3.3. The text and methodical recommendations
are presented (LETTERS Facebook, eTwining) to
partnership schools (Italy, Romania).
A3.4. The text is analyzed according to
methodology using particular text comprehension
strategies in the partnership schools (Italy,
Romania, Lithuania).
A3.5. The partnership schools (Italy, Romania,
Lithuania) prepare drama text pageant highlighting
their ethic colours and cultural context.
