Georgia Germein and the Germein Sisters are going to be at the Rock Bar on Satur- day night and will be playing a mixture of originals and covers. Georgia, 20, came to Alice Springs last year for the MusicNT InTune conference and was inspired by the town. She said: ‘‘I’d only been there when I was really young, so I didn’t really remember too much. ‘‘When I came for InTune, I thought the town was really cool and found some really cool venues. ‘‘My sisters and I are in the middle of a national tour and we didn’t want to miss out on seeing the NT — we’ve just done a bunch of shows in Queensland and Western Australia. ‘‘After these shows we’ll be going to Melbourne, then off to Ireland to record our first album before touring Canada and Europe.’’ Georgia and her two older sisters, Ella and Clara, started playing music together pro- fessionally after Georgia left school two years ago. She said: ‘‘I grew up with music all around me. ‘‘Both of my sisters were musicians and we all loved doing it, so we decided to form a band together. ‘‘We just do our own thing — we don’t try to sound like anybody. Some people have said we sound like The Corrs because we’re a sibling band with a pop/folk sound. ‘‘We started playing classi- cal music when we were kids, but then moved on to other instruments and styles, which I think contributes to our sound.’’ While the girls play original music, they also have some cover songs for people to sing along to. ‘‘We have everything from Fleetwood Mac to Katy Perry and U2,’’ Georgia said. ‘‘I’ll also be playing some of the music from my solo album which I released in 2010.’’ Georgia Germein and the Germein Sisters will be at the Rock Bar from 9pm Saturday. Hotting up with R’n’B hype stuff Cameron Boon THE boys from the R’n’B Superclub say their party at the ca- sino this weekend will be the perfect way to keep warm. MC Jayson said he’ll be putting his skills to good use on Saturday night. He said: ‘‘It’s been a little while since we’ve been to the Alice, but we’re going to put on our best show. ‘‘There are a lot of killer tracks on the new R’n’B Superclub album and I’ll be doing a bunch of hype stuff while DJ Def Rock mixes up some tunes. ‘‘In the past, Alice Springs has really loved more of the old- school stuff, so we’ll see how we go.’’ The R’n’B Superclub will be on at the Juicy Rump this Saturday from 10pm. Hip-hop’s a dream for MC Seizure Cameron Boon GET a generous serv- ing of hip-hop this Monday night when MCs from Melbourne hit the stage. Two rappers from Melbourne hip-hop out- fit Renovator’s Dream will be feature artists for the Alice Springs Desert Music Club. Julius Seizure (aka Julien Cleary) lives in Alice Springs and spoke to the Centralian Advo- cate this week. ‘‘Our first live shows were in 2004 in Mel- bourne and we were this big, six or seven- piece funk/hip-hop band,’’ he said. ‘‘I started (writing) when I was interested in graffiti art and then met a bunch of people who were into hip-hop. It was probably at the end of high school when I started writing, which was 2001-02.’’ He said Renovator’s Dream had received airplay on Melbourne radio and on national youth station Triple J. ‘‘We played at places like The Evelyn and The Espy in Melbourne and I had some really good mates in a reggae band we toured with. ‘‘I’ve kept a bit lower a profile since being in Alice Springs, but I’ve done some poetry slams and got up at the Desert Music Club. ‘‘One of the guys from Renovator’s Dream, Antics, is coming to town this weekend. ‘‘We met back in 2002 and have been working together ever since. ‘‘Since I found out he was coming to Alice Springs, we’re going to bring out some of our new material and then do some improv beats.’’ The Alice Springs Desert Music Club is on at the Todd Tavern from 7pm Monday. A TRIO of Adelaide sisters isgoing to be serenading AliceSprings with their folk popthis weekend.

Georgia Germein and theGermein Sisters are going tobe at the Rock Bar on Satur-day night and will be playing amixture of originals andcovers.

Georgia, 20, came to AliceSprings last year for theMusicNT InTune conferenceand was inspired by the town.

She said: ‘‘I’d only beenthere when I was really young,so I didn’t really remembertoo much.

‘‘When I came for InTune, Ithought the town was reallycool and found some reallycool venues.

‘‘My sisters and I are in themiddle of a national tour andwe didn’t want to miss out onseeing the NT — we’ve justdone a bunch of shows inQueensland and WesternAustralia.

‘‘After these shows we’ll begoing to Melbourne, then offto Ireland to record our firstalbum before touring Canadaand Europe.’’

Georgia and her two oldersisters, Ella and Clara, startedplaying music together pro-fessionally after Georgia leftschool two years ago.

She said: ‘‘I grew up withmusic all around me.

‘‘Both of my sisters weremusicians and we all loveddoing it, so we decided to forma band together.
