Ali baba and the Forty Thieves VS. Aladdin By Alex Ali baba and the Forty Thieves, and the 1992 Disney motion Aladdin have many similarities and differences. Aladdin is a cartoon where a young man falls in love with a princess and tries’s to be with her. Now Ali baba is a Arabian folktale where a old man finds a secrete cave where forty thieves hides their riches. The two folktales have one major similarity, and that is there both Arabian folktales. The Arabian countries are found by Israel and Egypt. The Arabians are known for there markets and trade by pig harbors. This next similarity is the jackpot; they both have huge caves of riches. Also the caves are hidden by sand or rocks. The caves only open to a magic word or a certain person. A good folktale is not complete without a bad guy, and that would be the forty thieves or the thieve. Both thieves wanted to be vary rich. But in the end they were ethir stabbed with a dagger or sucked into a magic genie lamp. Ya I know two weird endings. Now on the other hand the story’s had a jumbo size difference, one was text and one was a movie! A movie is a story that you can see with your eyes and you don’t half to think of the picture in your head. In my personal opinion I like movies better. Instead of getting a dagger to the heart like in Ali baba, the bad guy in Aladdin gets sucked into a lamp. The makers in Aladdin did this to make it a kid friendly movie. I got to agree with them it’s not good for a five year old to watch someone die.
