Masiu(Situation) Masiu is one of the Municipalities in Lanao del Sur which
is politically subdivided into 35 Barangays. Majority of itspopulation are Muslims. The agricultural town is home tothe Maranao which also known as ‘snow land’ because of
its cold temperature. It has a population of 24,105 peoplein 3,466 households.
Masiu is resource constrained in terms of implementing
projects. Most of the households are engaged inagricultural farming such as rice, corn, coconut andlivestock raising.
