0 INTRODUCTION

Al-Habshi Engineering Consultants Office (ACO) was established in April of 1994 for

the purpose of providing a broad range of engineering services to both the local

and international markets. Initially, to gain experience, ACO needed to draw upon the

expertise of other internationally established consultants which led to the creation

of Strategic Alliances and the signing of Association Agreements with O’Sullivan &

Graham (OS&G) in the UK, and with Development Design Consultants (DDC) from

Bangladesh. Both these firms have a vast experience in the fields of Architecture and

Civil Engineering, and collectively have over 2,000 employees.

Al-Habshi Engineering Consultants Office covers the complete spectrum of

engineering from Project Identification, Appraisal, Planning, Design, Contract

Documentation, Tender Analysis, to Construction Supervision, and includes the

establishment of Maintenance Systems and Rehabilitation Measures.

Almost all of the engineering disciplines are covered by Al-Habshi and achieved

through the extensive in-depth knowledge and the massive scope of experience

brought together by ACO and its many associates. With a large workforce available,

we employ many specialists ready to be placed into various projects.

Al-Habshi Engineering Consultants Office was established, and immediately linked up

to associates with international multidisciplinary capabilities to enable ACO to cater to

all their clients’ needs.

The following is a sample of the major clients held by ACO.

The Kuwait Fund, The Arab Economic Fund, Islamic Development Bank, BADEA, IFRC,

ARC, USAID. The Public Institution for Social Security, Wafra Real Estate Company,

Commercial Real Estate Company, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Kuwait Oil

Company, Joint Operations Wafra, plus other Public and Private accounts.

ACO’s services extend from Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Design and Development,

Project Management and all the aspects which are part of the monitoring any operation.

Covering all disciplines which range from Architecture including but not limited to

façade consultancy, interior design, hardware consultancy, ergonomic study, acoustics,

sustainability, landscape signage, workshop & rack design, medical equipment and

laboratory consultancy and fire engineering. Our civil design consultancy services

include hardscape, infrastructure, road marking, etc. Structural consultancy ranges

to covering concrete, steel, wood, brick structures either blast resistant or not. MEP

Services range from the design of high voltage, power generation, transmittion,

building services, and low voltage services covering ICT, AV and Fire.

All mechanical work includes water supply drainage, sanitary, irrigation treatment and

network, HVAC, CFD Studies.

International Consultants such as Design Consultants, PMU Contractors, CFCL,

SPECS, TEKFEN, PETROFAC, CHOVET, URS,ECC and FLUOR have been

associated with ACO on a Project-to-Project basis for certain specialized projects, to

cope with the demand from both the local and the international arena.
