This private Eco adventure is ideal for small parties looking for an active Algonquin experience. Explore Kawawaymog Lake by canoe, hike to scenic lookouts, and take a dip after a floating sauna. Finish each day relaxing on the dock, or in front of the fireplace. Enjoy private chalet suite accommodation at Voyageur Quest’s Algonquin Cottage Outpost.

DAY 1Arrive at Voyageur Quest Canoe Outpost at 11:30am. Meet your guide and hop into a canoe for a lesson and short paddle on Round Lake. Return to the Cottage Outpost for lunch before heading out again for an afternoon paddle. Explore the small bays for birds such as loon and heron. Navigate around islands and learn about the evolution of Round Lake. Return to the Cottage Outpost for a bbq dinner followed by Voices of Algonquin night hike and bonfire.

DAY 2Interpretative hike to Music Lake featuring an introduction to the boreal forest, beaver ponds, and spruce bogs. Picnic lunch at Music Lake before hiking to Surprise Lake where a 26-foot Voyageur Canoe waits. Enjoy a leisurely paddle as we “island hop” our way down the lake and arrive via canoe at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Relax, swim or take a sauna.

DAY 3Voyageur start and sunrise paddle. Search for Moose and beaver lodges and take advantage of ideal photography opportunities. Cook out maple syrup breakfast. Return to cottages by late morning. Afternoon to relax, paddle or hike on your own.

DAY 4Depart at 10:00am. The Algonquin Eco Adventure includes: three nights deluxe cottage accommodation, lunch and dinner day 1, lunch day 2, breakfast day 3, canoe and lesson, guided night hike, canoe and hike/Voyageur paddle and sauna, sunrise paddle and cookout breakfast.

HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED? WHAT KIND OF SHAPE DO YOU NEED TO BE IN? None! The Algonquin Eco Adventure is for people at any level of experience. Our pace is relaxed, as the objective is to have fun, slow down and leave plenty of time to explore the beauty of the Park. You should be able to be active for up to 4 hrs at a time.

LOCATION AND COTTAGE OUTPOST AMENITIESLocated at Algonquin Park’s north west corner, the Algonquin Cottage Outpost is located on Kawawaymog Lake. The property features 650 feet of shoreline, 2 docks and a floating sauna. Your cabin or chalet suite features two bedrooms (one with queen bed, one with two single beds( or bunk beds) – linens are provided), private washroom (with shower), dining area, living room with wood burning fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, a deck with BBQ.
