Algae and HydrogenBy: Efrain Rocha
Its used for:
algaeHydrogen
Algae is used for a source for natural deposits
Many companies are funding efforts to reduce capital and operating costs and make algae fuel production commercially viable.
automobile, aircraft, and mechanical energy uses hydrogen as fuel
benefits
algaeHydrogen
Algae is the fastest growing plants in the world.
Oil is 50% of oils weight of algae’s weight
It can be used for any type of vehicles
Also it does not rise the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
Hydrogen will help move us to a sustainable energy economy
It also can present concerns with the structure of the existing energy economy.
drawbacks
algaeHydrogen
• Produces unstable biodiesel with many polyunsaturated.
• Relatively new technology.
• Biodiesel performs poorly compared to it’s mainstream alternative
It can be very explosive
It only last only 1/5th as long as would be needed to make fuel cells cost-effective.
government plans for full implementation conversion
algaeHydrogen
The government has invested $78 million dollars in algae bio fuel research
The army invested heavily in the emerging bio fuel also the military has stepped up as a potential customer
They are starting to do make cars with hydrogen as a bio-fuel but they are scared of taking a risking peoples lives
Why not…
algaeHydrogen
Algae is not the #1 source because there's not enough of it
And if were going to use it were going to make more of it and its not going to last as much
Its not the #1 source because its so explosive and can cause a lot of damage
Effects…
algae Hydrogen
Algae releases chemicals when it gets hotter and those chemicals are released into the air and that can cause
The effects hydrogen has that its very dangerous
