Abstract: The Alfred S. Cosentino papers are partially processed. The files consist of Cosentino’s research files on a wide variety of Abarth modifications and vehicles, especially for Fiat. Each file consists of Cosentino’s notes, photographic prints, negatives, correspondence, and related material concerning the specific vehicle. Other files document FAZA, his Abarth import company. The collection also includes Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) homologation papers for Fiat Abarth vehicles. The Cosentino papers have not been processed, and are in their original order, but to make it easier to find information, the finding aid lists the files in an alphabetical sort order.

Language: Materials are in Italian and English.

Biography: Cosentino was a race car driver and businessman. In the early 1960s he opened an import center named FAZA (Fiat Abarth Zagato Allemano) in Brewster, NY. From 1965 to 1969, he achieved a number of SCCA wins with a Fiat Abarth 1000 Berlina in the new D Sedan class. He imported everything for Abarth cars, parts, books, accessories, and self-published a number of books on the Abarth. Cosentino died on November 7, 2012. Transfer Note: Several films and artifacts were removed from the collection and are found separately in the Revscat catalog. Acquisition Note: The Revs Institute for Automotive Research, Inc. acquired the Cosentino papers in 2014 (accession number 2014-043).
