I want to emphasize that I have known Alexander closely for the past two years, and have worked with him on different projects. I have closely followed Alexander’s performance as I was managing the team projects and his performance has been truly exceptional. He has exhibited the highest level of responsibility, consistency, research acumen and learning capability, which, in my opinion, is very rare and makes him an outstanding student and researcher. I would like to start my recommendation of Alexander Nguyen by briefly summarizing my professional background. Currently I work as a Polymer Scientist at the 3M- Corpoarate Research Materials Laboratory focusing on innovative technologies that can impact future 3M products. I joined 3M shortly after my graduate studies (Ph.D in Polymer Science) at the University of Akron. At 3M, Alexander was involved in the development of a completely new technology platform which involved characterizing adhesion & strength of materials, material development, formulation development and process development. The first assignment for him was to learn the current test methods of adhesives and he learned them so fast that he surpassed our expectations to begin with. Along with adhesion and strength evaluations he become an expert in the rheological testing of adhesives. He has always surprised me by his testing efficiency and consistency by minimizing the resources and time. He has been very consistent and responsible in his work habits. Since then he was assigned greater responsibilities like synthesizing polymers and adhesives, lab scale processing and coating of adhesives and adhesive formulation development. I am proud of Alexander that he has learned all these technology areas at an ultrafast pace with a great innovative spirit and curiosity. It is clear to me that Alexander is a very capable and efficient student with an extra high potential. In person he is humble and responsible with high integrity. It is my pleasure to write this letter and I wholeheartedly support and recommend Alexander for this career advancement step and I wish him all the success in his future endeavors. Please contact me if you have any questions. Regards, Anish Kurian Polymer Scientist
