The usual climb in Denali, Alaska is around a 2 week journey

You will learn how to set up camp and what to bring for food by taking this trip. Make sure to have highly skilled climbers with you for motivation.

Read the book “Surviving Denali” (by: Jonathan Waterman) for tips and rules.

This trip will also help your body respond better to the high altitude.

Join a gym and mostly work your thighs, calves, abs, and upper body strength. Some precise exercises are running on treadmills, leg extension, curl-ups, pull-ups, and LAT pull down.

Get a health check up. You will need healthy arteries and healthy body in order to climb Everest.

Check yourself for asthma and bad cholesterol. Have a doctor check your heart, lungs, and brain.

At first, take on an easy mountain like Cho Oyu in Nepal.

Make a checklist of all the things you need so when you start the climb, you are prepared

Keep a radio close-by so when you are in trouble, help is just a radio call away.

Take a little more extreme climb by yourself, just as a challenge. A good mountain is Mt. Aconcagua in South America.

You do not have to do a harder climb, it is just a suggestion. If you feel that you are not ready for a harder mountain, re-climb Cho Oyu in Nepal.

Do you feel like you are ready to climb Everest? If not, KEEP PRACTICING! If so, you will need a guide, a group, and equipment.

Try to mentally prepare yourself for Everest. No bad attitudes! Keep your confidence strong. Don’t think about the negatives, but think about the positives.

Once you have EVERYTHING ready, get set, and GO climb that mountain!
