This whole first week was amazing I met many people and learned many things. When I met Red Cloud it opened my eyes to do what I want to do as a career and that is working in the Music Business. His raps inspire a little spark within me and DJ Hydroe mixed it like I have never seen before. Working at the garden, making drums, the songs and dancing that I have learned was fun and I hope I can share those teachings with my family. It is weird how I see Alejandro and I see my uncle within him. I feel his presence their and many things that Alejandro does is just like him. They both are the life of the party and I miss my uncle may he rest in paradise. This place is great I haven’t had this much fun in a while and I like to say thank you to everyone that's is here they changed who I am inside.
Native Youth Program
My Most Life Changing Moments
Ever since I was little my life was not what many children go
through. When I was born I had neither of my parents with me. My
father was deported around that time. He came across three
different borders just so he could come and take care of me. When I
was five-years-old immigration came and took my father away from me
once again. I was living with my grandma and my aunt until I was seven.
Around the same time my father won his deportation case and was not
sent back to El Salvador.
As I was growing up my father was looking for a mother for me.
It did not take long for him to find one of the best stepmothers in the
world. I love her with all of my heart. My life changed once my
parents got married and had a daughter. Sometime later my father
was arrested again but for a Rico charge meaning they wanted to
convict him for life with little evidence. It has been about three years
since my father has been charged and the FBI does not want to drop
the case and it is hurting our family economically.
One gift the creator gave me was my brother. Marlon and I were
did not like each other in the beginning but with time that changed. It
has been more than ten years and now we cannot live without each
other. His family all took me in as their own and I appreciate that and
I love them so dearly.
Recently my uncle Alvin passed away, he was diagnosed with
stage three colon cancer about four years ago and it was
devastating for us. I love so much he was my second father and my
teacher. My grandmas help out so much with my uncle and I love her
so much.
Moments toCollege I will be
attending Long Beach City College
in the fall 2012. I will Study
Business and Music to pursue
my dreams to own my own music
studio.
