Incorporated April 2, 1841, the Albany Rural Cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one
of the most beautiful and historic cemeteries in upstate New York. The 467 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds
include the burial plots of many distinguished national and local dignitaries. A President of the United States (Chester
Arthur) is joined by 5 Governors, 3 members of the Continental Congress, 3 members of the Philadelphia Constitutional
Convention, 13 members of the Colonial Assembly, 8 Presidential Cabinet members, 5 Ambassadors, 5 U.S. Senators,
29 U.S. Congressmen and numerous Judges, as well as 55 Mayors of the City of Albany.
