This is one cruise seminar that is guaranteed to fill up fast, so don’t procrastinate, make your reservations early!

Course Description: America’s population is aging. As we welcome the “Z” generation into adulthood, we recognize that people are living longer. Papas, Niessen, and Chauncey describe this aging popu-lation in Geriatric Dentistry: Aging and Oral Heath as, “young old” (ages 65-74), “old” (ages 75-84) and “old-old” (ages 85 and above). These older dental patients are highly educated, have higher expectations for the care of their oral health and dentition, and are more able to afford dental care. Unfortunately, these patients possess multiple chronic systemic diseases for which they take multiple medications. Therefore, the modern dentist must possess both basic medical knowledge to be able to understand potential medical and dental interactions, as well as a core competency in diagnosing and managing medical emergencies.

This course is recommended for clinicians who want to expand their knowledge in treating medically compromised patients with ease. This course will provide didactic and hands-on experiences for the whole dental team to prevent and mange potential medical emergencies.
