Alarcon Elementary celebrated Read Across America

Week with many festivities. With the theme of Dr.

Seuss students participated in dress like Cat in the

Hat, dress like what you want to be when you grow

up, dress like a Who, pajama day and crazy socks

day. We had many guest readers who took the time to

come by and read to our students. Everyone also

participated in the door decorating contest and went

all out by decorating the halls and bulletins too. We

also hosted our first family Literacy night that was

filled with games, reading, super heroes and prizes.

This was such a successful event that we even made

it to the El Paso Times. Thank you to everyone who

participated and made this event a great success.

STAAR Rally

Our students were treated to a STAAR

rally to get them pumped up for the

STAAR test. Our administrators and

instructional specialists did an awesome

job motivating our students.
