Among Anna’s many passions were traveling the globe, gardening at the house she lived in for more than 70 years, and attending the San Francisco Opera. She collected pottery, lighthouse-themed pic-
tures and figurines, stuffed bears and teapots. She loved Christmas and Easter, especially bunnies.
Anna will always be remem-bered for her love of family gath-erings, her famous chili beans, her beautiful smile, soft voice and impeccable appearance. A celebra-tion of Anna’s life with family and friends will be held Sunday, Aug. 14.
It is with great sadness that the family of Kerrie Anne Kettelhut announces her sudden passing on June 15, 2016, in Reno at the age of 46. We have lost a unique, free spirited soul who left an impres-sion on everyone that she met. Born and raised in Alameda, Kerrie attended Lum Elementary School, Wood Middle School and graduated from Alameda High School. She went on to earn a degree in Philosophy from UC Santa Cruz.
Kerrie is lovingly remembered by her husband of 18 years Matt Olsem and their daughter Lily Olsem, both of Reno; by her parents Larry and Barbara Kettelhut, her sister Sarylsue (Dennis) DiFabio,
her Aunts Valerie Bachtell, Patricia Bachtell and Janet Kettelhut, her nephew Steven Kettelhut, and niece
Christine Gaster. Also by cousins Crystal Tapia and Terry Bachtell, and numer-ous other nieces, nephews and friends. Kerrie was preced-ed in death by her grandparents Russell and Mary Bachtell, and uncles Raymond
and Russell Bachtell.A casual celebration of life with
close friends and family was held in Reno on July 9. There will also be a gathering on Friday, July 29, at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. in Oakland at 1:30 p.m. followed by her interment with her beloved grandparents Dr. Howard and Iva Kettelhut at 2:30 p.m.
