New Look for Pearl’sSouth Shore Center owner Jamestown Properties has great improvements planned for 2012, starting with a revamp of the Pearl’s Deluxe Burgers façade. Jamestown Architect Mark Blair explains what’s happening with Pearl’s and what’s to come.

You’ll be seeing some exciting new façade changes at Pearl’s Deluxe Burgers this spring. “We’re excited

about a store front and tenant enhancement process that we are planning throughout South Shore Center,” explains Jamestown architect Mark Blair, “We’re initially testing the approach this spring at Pearl’s by adding new awnings and a canopy, which will create a covered outdoor seating area for their guests. We’ll also be adding a large communal table between Pearl’s and Panera.” Blair continues, “Jamestown believes that the customer experience can be enhanced by more unique store fronts and customized tenant expression. The new façade design will help brand the South Shore Center location more consistently with other Pearl’s locations. In the future, we are planning more of this kind of large-scale branding throughout the center.”

Jamestown is also implementing a Wi-Fi program at the center. Learn more about our Wi-Fi program on page 8.

Well-dressed Southern gentlemen have always been fashionable, but Southern men’s fashion

isn’t all straw boaters and seersucker suits anymore. Modern Southern fashion, as exemplified by clothiers like Billy Reid, Peter Nappi, Ledbury, DREWLEWIS and Sid Mashburn, has broken the bounds of regionalism and become part of a larger movement of vintage American style that is reflected in both fashion and home décor.

Like good bourbon and vinyl records, Southern men’s fashion never goes out of style. Inspired by the relaxed pace of the South, modern Southern fashion has a cavalier attitude about rules. Southern men mix plaids. They roll the cuffs of their jeans (after all, one never knows when the urge to fish will strike), and they wear boots to formal affairs. For tips on dressing, drinking, and even decorating like a proper Southern gentleman, check out Bearings Guide or Garden & Gun Magazine. I know I’ve had my eye on a pair of Bartolomeo boots by Peter Nappi ever since they showcased at Westside Provision District’s “Tinsel and Twine” pop-up shopping event in Atlanta this past Christmas.

Southern GentlemanMan-about-town George Krauth dishes on the fashions, flavors, de-signs and décor he discovers as he travels the globe tracking trends in his capacity as Creative Manager for Jamestown Properties. This quarter, George explores Southern men’s fashion.
