Ticket Information

1. I want to purchase a block of tickets for members of my organization or for my

students but the limit that comes up is 6. May I purchase for a group?

Yes, we may be able to provide that option but first we will need to get more

contact you regarding the request.

2. Are there any VIP tickets being offered for this performance that will get me better

Transportation

1. May I add the transportation later if I need it?

Yes, but you will need to call 713-315-2457 or e-mail [email protected] to make that addition.

2. What kind of transportation is being provided?

The type of vehicle used to transport patrons will be determined by the number of persons requiring transportation from your area including large vans and small and large buses.

3. If I use the Hobby Center provided transportation and I need to leave during the performance will transportation be available at that time?

Yes, if you feel it is in your best interest to leave the performance early, alternative transportation to your original pick up point will be provided. If this becomes necessary during the second act, we may ask that you wait for the original transport at the end of the performance. Please keep in mind that there will be designated quiet and activity areas for any patrons who may feel overwhelmed by the performance or the experience and you will be permitted to leave and re-enter the audience chamber as needed.

4. What time will we be picked up from the complimentary transportation location?

Approximate time will be 12:00 PM. Times may vary by location depending on distance, projected traffic and number of patrons at the location. You will be contacted in June with more details.

Parking

1. Is there parking available at the Hobby Center?

There is parking in the Hobby Center Garage for $15 (entrances on Rusk and Walker Street) or $25 for Valet (entrance on Rusk Street). Hobby Center parking is subject to availability. Parking is also available in the Theater District Garage (entrances on Rusk Street) across from the Hobby Center for $12.

2. Is there handicap parking available?

Yes, there are handicap designated spots by the elevators on each floor of the Hobby Center garage.

3. Is there parking available for buses or large passenger vans?

There is limited parking available at the Hobby Center or on the streets at or near the Hobby Center. We will do our best to accommodate your vehicle.

Food & Drink

1. Will children’s food and drink be available for purchase? If so, what kind?

Yes, we will offer kid-friendly food concession items at family friendly performances such as Aladdin. These include snack packs and items such as fruit, cookies, chicken nuggets and french fries.

2. May I bring food and drink for my child who has special dietary needs or limited food preferences?

In order to accommodate dietary restrictions, snacks from home are permitted. We encourage you to limit your eating to the lobby areas as much as possible. Drinks are allowed inside the theatre at all times.

Performance

1. Is this the same performance that will be offered to the general public?

The show content is the same but modifications will be made to make it sensory friendly. These may include lowering sound levels or dimming show lights where needed as well as keeping the audience chamber lights on at a dim level to facilitate

movement in and out as needed. Other modifications deemed necessary to make the

performance sensory friendly may also be made.

2. Will I be allowed to exit and re-enter the performance with my child if needed?

Yes, you may and the chamber lights will be kept at a dim level to facilitate this movement. Additionally, there will be designated quiet and activity areas outside the chamber in the lobby areas.

Other Questions

1. Will coping/soothing tools be allowed inside the theatre?

Small coping tools (e.g.: fidgets, weighted blankets, etc.) are allowed in the theatre.

Headphones are also allowed. Some fidgets, earplugs, and a limited number of

headphones will be available.

2. Will electronic devices be allowed in the theatre?

Small electronic devices such as phones and iPads are allowed for self-soothing. Please be considerate of those around you by using headphones or muting the sound so as not to distract from the performance. Flash photography and videography are NOT permitted inside the theatre. We want you to enjoy the performance while still respecting the production and theatre policies.

3. Are service animals allowed?

Service animals are allowed at the performance. We would ask that you please notify us

in advance at [email protected].

4. Are there any resources available to help us prepare for the performance?

A downloadable social narrative, written specifically for this event, is available at www.thehobbycenter.org/AladdinSFP. Additional resources, including a character guide, video clips of the Broadway production and a link to the cast soundtrack can also be found on the web site.

5. Will any type of support be provided at the theatre?

Quiet areas and activity areas staffed with volunteers specifically trained in sensory sensitivities will be available in the theatre lobbies. Additional trained volunteers and staff will be accessible throughout the performance to assist you. Supplementary visual supports and a limited number of small fidgets, earplugs and headphones will also be available.

6. Are there family restrooms available?

Family restrooms will be designated and volunteers will be available to guide you to

their location.
