Sri Venkateswara College , popularly calledVenky is a premier
college of Universityof Delhi. Founded under the auspices of
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)Trust in 1961, the college has
grown intoone of the leading educational institutes inthe
country.
It is one of the two colleges in theuniversity to be recognized
by UGC asCollege with Potential for Excellence andone of the four
prestigious colleges in thecountry chosen by NASSCOM and UGC to
set up its Techno Business Skills Centre.
The college has been consistently rankedamongst the best
colleges of India byleading newspapers and magazines.

About AlaapClassical music is never out of fashion. Its
richtexture and traditional roots binds itself to us,as it sings of
our lives and culture.
Alaap the Indian music society of SVC isdedicated to the
revival, appreciation andpractice of the Indian classical, biased
andfusion.
It came into existence in 2004 throughcollective efforts of the
students of our college.It is now one of the best music societies
of DU.and has some of the finest musicians.
Today it is band of 15 members, carefully selected every year
through several rounds of auditions taken by the senior members.
Asthey perform, they bring to the audience awholesome feast of
MUSIC to awaken andthrill their senses.
A society of expertise and professionalism,when performs leaves
the audience in nothing
short of a trance.

Society Achievements It is the only college in India to have
made a record at being victorious at the
national event held at AIIMS consecutively for the last 4 years
since 2007.
Winner at IIT Delhi for 5 straight years since 2006.

Performed at Common wealth games 2010 as the band FUSION
SYNC.
Alumni members of this society are now a part of popular bands
