Corona Virus seems to be getting worse… I keep repeating this and, believe me, I re-ally don’t want to!

For the time being, we are still stuck with our clubs closed & tournaments cancelled. But there are things we can do. Thank goodness for online bridge! It isn’t the same as in person bridge, but it sure helps. But there are also in person things that you can do to actually see your friends in person - see pages 4 & 5 to see what a couple of our online directors, Teri & Dave, plus some of their friends are doing. And by the way, what they are doing is safe because they are using masks, social dis-tance and fresh air. All of these are highly recommended ways to prevent the spread.

So put your own safe bridge party together, have some fun and if you like send pictures & description to me to share!

Only one person received a rank promotion this month - Nicklos White became a Sectional Master. Congratula-tions Nicklos! (But I will have to call ACBL and com-plain that they aren’t promoting our people fast enough!

)

Stay Well!!

Bridge in the Covid-19 World What do you do when those bridge clubs are closed? Surely you want to see your bridge buddies. Well…

1. On a certain day in July, virtual bridge took place on the American River Parkway, where Sacramento area players Teri Smoot, Dave Vidaver, Denis Racine and Mary Ose, together with Carson City players Paul and Brenda Pugsley, met in the shade along the river to enjoy participation in the Sacramento virtual club game. Dave and Brenda paired, Denis and Paul paired, Teri and Desi Soto paired, and Mary paired with Wayne from SoCal. It was very hot but all enjoyed a won-derful opportunity to see each other in a so-cially distanced way. So much for looking at those Covid walls!

2. On a July Sunday morning, wondering why we might have not seen them online, Enlow and Mel Ose, Teri Smoot and Mary Ose piled into the car and drove south to Wilton to check out the gorgeous Full Fla-vors Farm owned and operated by Kathy Beasley and Ken Hajek, Sacramento players. All indulged themselves in the wonderful baked goods Ken and Kathy prepare, and filled their baskets with fresh veggies to en-joy for the upcoming week. Check it out!
