The most notorious of the bloodlettings was the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, in which members of Bugs Moran's gang were machine-gunned in a north-side garage on Feb. 14, 1929.
HOW HE WENT TO JAIL
In June 1931 Capone was indicted for federal income-tax evasion and in October was tried, found guilty, and sentenced to 11 years in prison and $80,000 in fines and court costs. He entered Atlanta penitentiary in May 1932 but was transferred to the new Alcatraz prison in August 1934.
DEATH
In November 1939, suffering from the general deterioration of paresis (a late stage of syphilis), he was released and entered a Baltimore hospital. Later he retired to his Florida estate, where he died in 1947, a powerless recluse.

IMPACT CAPONE HAD ON HISTORY
AL Capone effected history by supplying people during prohibition with alcohol , in doing this he convinced people of the time that a ban on alcohol wasn’t necessary.
Also the FBI became a honest efficient law enforcement agency because No one was able to bribe them like they could the police.
FUN FACTS
Capone’s specially-outfitted, bullet-proof Cadillac was seized by the U.S. Treasury Department in 1932 and later used by the government as Franklin Roosevelt’s limousine.
Capone got his “Scarface” nickname after a bar brawl in Coney Island that left him with three large slashes on the left side of his face.
After suffering a mental and physical decline as a result of neurosyphilis, a Baltimore psychiatrist and Capone’s personal physician performed tests that showed his mental capability had diminished to that of a 12-year-old.
