Hip-Hop Artist, Model, Actor & Song Writer, “Prince Akilz” Real name Garrick Franklin was born and raised in East Atlanta, Ga. In the beginning, I started out with a group of 4 based out of Greenville,SC. Headed to the studio every other weekend with my homie was cool, I thought we would make it. Looking back at it, it was doomed for a disaster.

Management wasn’t tight, beats were scarce and we weren’t consistent or in tune with one another, It wasn’t enough for me,

I WANTED SOMETHING MORE!

The death of a friendship, would be caused by my desicion to leave the group..... but the birth of Akileez was rising.

After this split I slowly began to understand that everything is not what it seems and that in order to make it you must continue to be positive. While searching to find out out who I am - I made friends with a couple local producers and began to make my own music.

Myself and one of the producers Chris Whitfield aka DJ $TACK$ had gotten really close, we were brothers and formed our own group, (Luney Tunez Entertainment).

We started recording music in a room with a stage mic taped to a lamp post until we started going to a studio ,We made a good run, and as we got older we changed the name to A&L and continued our journey.

I must say that this is the best run that I had while being in a group. Although there was not a death to this relationship there was the challenge of us both growing up, and It seemed like we were growing up fast. Not having money for studio time and dealing with other hardships would allow our focus to be shifted in other directions

Soon after our senior year rolled around our minds were on 2 different pages and caused a mutual separation of A&L. Although this was a mutual separation, it was still hard. Me &

$tack$ did almost everything together, I will say that this was one of my most hardest and important career descions I have to make yet.

One of the things that I’ve learned is that when dealing with partners or in business period you have to be able to see ahead. Unnecessary arguments & msiunderstandings would allow me to clearly see that our friendship was more important than us rapping in a group together.

Now that i was solo again i found myself taking a break from music for a month or so, until one day in class my friend Sean recorded me spitting a 16 bar verse for him and he put it on Facebook. the feedback i received was CRAZY!!

People were asking for mixtapes and more music. I could’ve did it, but if i was going to do it i wanted to do it the right way and have the proper representation.

I hooked up with Clarksfield Management Group after doing a couple videos of me flowing acapella. I performed a freestyle verse over Jay-Z and Kanye's OTIS at a school event and everybody loved it. NOW IM HERE AND IM READY TO BE THE FACE OF HIP-HOP AND ENTERTAINMENT PERIOD!

I’ve also learned that everything is about timing. God said there is a time and place for everything- A Time to Live & A Time to Die, A time to give Birth and a Time to Die. I believethat I am and have been on the delivery table, going through what I have been through to see my dreams come to life. It feels like my dreams are slowly coming down the birth canal and at this crowning moment in my life

I feel like its my time! Were in an era where music..... especially hip hop & r&b are lacking the meaning and emotions that it started with. Todays hip hop is nothing but drugs & money and violence, which doesn’t do our community good...seeing as our genre of music is THE youngest genre and the most impactful.

It doesn’t get the respect I believe it should get. The story lines in hip-hop are some the best stories you’ll find out here(along with country music:). Its poetry, its the voice of the unspoken, and along with people who are trying to put this genre back on top I feel I have what it takes to help do that and represent the people nobody listens to.

I represent for the single parent homes, the youngin on the corner trying to get it the best & only way he knows how, because his father wasn’t or isn’t around him/her to show them the right way,

I represent for the moms who struggle with raising men. I represent the youth, I push for individuality.........

everybody nowadays has to be like somebody else, Im not here to impress any body or make friends, Im here to live out the purpose I was put here for, and if I happen to impress a crowd of people or make a few friends along the way so be it.

Thanks for Listening!
