Corporate Business Model DevelopmentBefore starting AKEA we conducted interviews with past customers and key personnel we wished to join the company. We learned:
Employers think:
• Subject matter experts are retiring or leaving corporate America.
• Employees that stay 5 years or more are the exception.
• Employees are coming into the work place with no real skills or training. Everyone requires OJT.
• Qualified employees are very difficult to find and cost way too much.
Employees think:
• Few Employers understand work / life balance, no matter what they preach.
• Employers do not return loyalty, as soon as a quarterly report is unfavorable, they dump people.
• Very little training is offer, they expect you be an expert on day one.
• I am assigned jobs I know nothing about and have no interest in learning as everyone is doing two or three jobs.

Our customer's and potential employee's drivers were used to developed our "Modern Business Model". This has three main points
• Agile – by removing all layers of the company, decision are made quickly and by the people who are involved with the project.
• Adaptive – We build our team for each customer and project. There is no one size fits all approach as each project is unique.
• Modern Personnel Model – We keep a small core of full-time key personnel and the rest are brought on as needed. Our flexible employee network is large and growing and this is how they prefer to work. They pick projects they are interested in and wish to work on.
Corporate Business Model

There are 3 generation of workers in America and all have different expectations of an employer. How does AKEA use these drivers to maximize our customer's projects?
The Boomers, even if retired, are using their expertise to supplement their retirement, pay off that vacation home or just to stay busy.
• Great source of subject matter experts. Experts with 20+ years of specialized skills from this generation.
• The GenX are working to develop their own brand, their own business and expand their portfolio as they do not trust corporate America.
Using the 3 Generation Workforce
• They are driven to perform and build their personal reputation. They want to be the next big thing in their field. Very willing to take risks to accomplish their goals.
• The Millennials are not 8 to 5 office types. They are the first true digital generation and they wish to work in the same manner as they have learned and live. This is connected via the phone and internet 24 hours a day.
• Willing to learn, work and ask why? They are fine with a short-term assignments as it allows them time to "have a life".
The AKEA business model uses the various drivers for each generation to place the right person on the correct project, while training and expanding our workforce.
