President's ShackMay already. Where does the time go? Next thing you know, it will be Field Day! It was nice to see members at SARC and BARC in the Park. Lots of good bits and pieces for sale, and visitors from all over in town for the get together. And it was a perfect day for it.

Mike, WA6ARA, has in interesting program arranged for this month. All about homebrew gear. This is where we started ... in the early days you couldn't buy a radio at the store. You might be able to buy the pieces, but you had to build it yourself. It is a tradition that goes back over 100 years. So here is an opportunity to show off your homebrew gear. If you haven't done any homebrewing, maybe you will be inspired to give it a try. There are many of us in the club who are more than willingto help you get started!

As for ham radio events this month, don't forget the High Desert Trails Rally. I hope that members willfind time to participate in this as they have in the past. And don't forget, next month IS Field Day ... always the fourth full weekend in June.

Unfortunately, I will miss the May meeting as I will be out of town for the week. I was looking forward to the homebrew show and tell. I hope someone takes lots of photographs! (Mike will also have a couple of my projects to share, from my early days as well as current.)

See you in June.73 DE W6DQ

May ProgramHomebrew Roundup !

The May meeting program will be about stuff you built. It doesn't matter what you have built, or when you built it or what it does. Built a radio, bring it in. Built and antenna, bring it in. Did something with a 3d printer, bring it. Just about anything you built, modified or bought that would be of interest, bringit. 73 Mike WA6ARA
