The Smart Cycle & Smart Cycle Plus configuration combines the advan-tages of superior performance and energy savings with the oil removal efficiency of a built-in, multi-stage separator/cold coalescer.
By locating the coalescing filter at the coldest point in the air sys-tem, filtration efficiency is greatly enhanced, and because of the pre-separation of bulk contaminants prior to entering the element(s), pressure drop and operating costs are dramatically reduced.

Energy SavingsMinimize pressure drop, the hidden cost of compressed air
A conventional refrigerated air dryer will have a pressure drop of approximately 5 PSID at rated flow. Determin-ing the pressure drop through filters is a bit more complicated. Industry tests have shown that a clean and dry element will have less than 1 PSI drop, but it is recommended that it be changed at 10 PSID.
Over the typical life of a coalescing element under those parameters, the average pressure drop would be about 7.5 PSI. Using a particulate prefilter, and coalescer the combined pressure drop would be 15 PSI, plus the 5 PSI in the dryer for a total of 20 PSID. Since the Smart Cycle & Smart Cycle Plus uses the multi-staged housing to pre-separate bulk contaminants and filter out oil mist and aerosols, the average pressure drop through a Smart Cycle and Smart Cycle Plus Dryer is only about 5.5 PSID total.

Correction FactorsA critical consideration in dryer sizing
The Smart Cycle & Smart Cycle Plus rated capacity is based on standard inlet conditions of 100 PSIG, 100°F (37.7°C) inlet temperature and 100°F (37.7°C) ambient temperature. Should any of these conditions be other than standard, the dryer must be re-sized to accommodate those conditions.

Optional Control CenterParker Airtek’s optional Control Center (SC330 to SCP3000) features a complete complement of data acquisition functions. The easy to use Control Center affords superior dryer control along with digital telemetry, for remote analysis of performance. The Control Center has a distinctive “Flow Schematic” with active indicators. Dryer operation is easily viewed and ascertained. Should any parameter be outside a normal value, the system schematic annunciates by flashing the source area of the problems, as well as specifically stating details in the LCD display.
A Load Capacity Meter (LCM) shows the percent-of-burden at which the system is performing at any given moment.
Included with every Control Center is a communications port making StarWatchTM Services accessible. Parker Airtek can monitor and analyze every moment of operation, 24-7; and monitoring can be done wirelessly. When StarWatch is active on an installation, it will be as if a factory employee is right in your plant, advising your process engineer.
Remote Watch software is standard with the Control Center. You can monitor your dryer from any PC.
