The air is held to our planet by gravity--it’s called

an ATMOSPHERE.

it just kind of fades into space…………There’s no definite boundary to it--

EXOSPHERE(satellites and things like that)

THERMOSPHERE(auroras--lower satellites)

MESOSPHERE(meteors)

STRATOSPHERE(airplanes)

TROPOSHPERE(everything else)

It protects us from UV(ultra violet) rays.

Since three quarters of it is within 11km, we don’t have to struggle to breathe.

It weighs something--around FIVE QUINTILLION kilograms, and itkeeps low to the Earth so we can breathe.

As you know though, air gets thinner the higher you go, so this should show that you gotta stay low.
