Condensable PM in the context of stationary
source regulatory PM10/PM2.5 enforcement
is defined by the test methods used to
measure it. However, measurements may not
always reflect air quality impacts due to
method limitations. This presentation will
discuss challenges with current methods,
alternatives and impacts on estimated
emissions.

Glenn is a Principal Consultant at ENVIRON International
Corporation with more than 30 years of experience related
to air emissions measurement, monitoring and control
technologies for industrial and utility facilities. ENVIRON
recently joined forces with Rambøll, a leading international
engineering, design and management consultancy based
in Denmark.
Glenn has studied condensable PM measurement issues
and their role in PM2.5 regulations since 1996. He devel-
oped and published new chemically-speciated PM2.5
emission factors for boilers, heaters and power plants and
led development of stack test dilution methods for PM2.5.
He is an A&WMA Fellow and currently serves as A&WMA
West Coast Section Chair. He received a BA in applied me-
chanics and engineering sciences from the University of
California at San Diego.

Gas Turbine Combustion
Short Course http://www.ucicl.uci.edu/gtcsc2015/
One Week Course: March 16 - 20, 2015
===========================================
E A R L Y R E G I S T R A T I O N D E A D L I N E : F E B R U A R Y 1 1 , 2 0 1 5 Register in advance as enrollment is limited. =========================================== COURSE OBJECTIVE The objective of the course is to provide detailed instruction in the emissions, design, performance, theory, and regulations associated with gas turbine combustion systems. The syllabus includes a number of lectures on the fundamentals of combustion, but the main areas of instruction are in combustor emissions and design, and in the solution of practical problems that arise in the course of advanced combustor development. Special attention is paid to methods of minimizing pollutant emissions, regulatory forces, and the experimental and computational methods used to delineate combustor behavior. Evening workshops are available, at the discretion of the student, in computational analyses of combustor flows. The course is intended to meet the requirements of people already engaged in research or the design and development of gas turbine combustion systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, utility, or automotive applications. However, it could also be of considerable benefit to new entrants in the field of gas turbine combustion. Entrance Standards While no precise academic standards are laid down, it is assumed that the registrant holds a university degree or equivalent qualifications in science and engineering.
