Air Pollution created by man Burning of Fossil Fuels
Examples of fossil fuels: Oil and coal
Secondary Pollution
Made when primary pollutants mix with natural chemicals in the air.
Examples:
Smog
Acid Precipitation
When fossil fuels are burned, the bad gases they make go up into the clouds.
The gases make the clouds drop acid rain or snow, which harms animals, trees, and pollutes water supplies.
Ozone Layer
Protects us from ultraviolet radiation
CFC’s (chlorofluorocarbons), found in some spray bottles, destroy the ozone layer
Ozone, after it is lost, is replaced by the sun energy and oxygen.
