Performance Requirements1. Fire rated clear and wireless glazing material with surface-applied film listed for use in impact safety-rated locations such as doors, transoms and sidelites with fire rating requirements ranging from 20 minutes to 3 hours with hose stream test.Note: This product is not a barrier to radiant heat. For barrier to radiant heat contact Air Louvers Inc. for Swissflam products.

Submittals1. Comply with requirements of section 01300.2. Product data: Submit manufacturer’s technical data for each type of glazing material used.

Quality Assurance1. Glazing standards: FGMA glazing manual and sealant manual 2. Fire rated glass: Each lite shall bear permanent, nonremovable label of UL

or WHI certifying it for use in tested and rated fire rated assemblies.3. Fire rated glazing products for door assemblies: product identical to those tested per ASTM E 152, labeled and listed by UL and WHI.

Delivery, Storage and Handling1. Glazing material must be handled with care during transportation, storage, inspection and installation. Store in a dry location.

Warranty1. Warranty period: Keralite® FRF film is warranted for 3 years. Swissflam is warranted for 5 years. 2. Keralite® FRF is an engineered specialty fire resistant glass-ceramic material with its primary function being that of fire resistance integrity. Certain optical and visual faults are inherent to the manufacturing process, which may be evaluated according to the manufacturers quality standards. These characteristics do not generally impair the transparency or affect the performance of the glass in case of fire; and therefore shall not be considered cause for rejection.3. Swissflam® is an engineered specialty fire resistant glazing material. Certain optical and visual faults are inherent to the production process. These characteristics may be evaluated according to the manufacturers quality standards but do not generally impair the transparency or affect the performance of the glass in case of fire; and therefore shall not be considered cause for rejection.4. Pyroswiss® is an engineered specialty fire resistant glazing material. Certain optical and visual faults are inherent to the float production process, as are limited distortion and surface irregular-ities due to the tempering process. These characteristics may be evaluatedaccording to the manufacturers quality standards but do not generally impair the transparency or affect the perform-

ance and shall not be considered cause for rejection.

EEXXEECCUUTTIIOONN

Installation (Glazing) and Examination1. Check that the opening is plumb and square. Carefully inspect glass edges before installation. Superficial chips smaller than 5/32” (4 mm) are acceptable. Wider superficial chips or deep chips (with V profile) are not acceptableand should not be installed. Place setting blocks (3” min.) at sill located at approximately quarter points. Do not block the lite so as to restrict movement due to thermal expansion. Direct glass to perimeter frame contact should be strictly avoided. Check perimeter clearance and adjust setting blocks as needed.2. Cut glazing tape to length and set against stops, flush with sight lines.3. Install in vision panels in fire rated doors to requirements of NFPA 80.4. Install so that appropriate (UL) (WHI) markings remain permanently visible.

Protection and Cleaning1. Protect glass from contact with contaminating material such as paint or paint primer.2. Wash glass with a mild solution of soap and water and dry with a soft cloth being careful not to damage the 3MTM ScotchshieldTM Ultra film.

CCoonnssttrruuccttiioonn:: Mitered and welded corners; 10 Ga. securitygrille on exterior of louver with 13/16" square openings 1" on center; screws fastened through prepared frame into louvercore; this mounting method leaves corridor side of frame free offasteners for aesthetic and security purposes.

Adjustable blades of 16- gauge cold rolled steel pivot on cadmium-plated steel rivets. The blades are operated by a manual trigger. A spring-loaded fusible link mechanism is incorporated into the design. Upon melting of the link, the actionbar is actuated thereby closing and locking all of the blades.
