We’d like to welcome our new secre-tary of the WDVA , Daniel Zimmerman. Secretary Zimmerman has visited the Wisconsin Veterans Home here at King several times and is looking forward to spending more time here to meet our members, staff, and volunteers.

New WDVA Secretery

Volunteer stations have now been installed in each building. We un-derstand that many of you do not come to Marden Center and we have volunteers who do not have email.

To better communicate and help the buildings know who is in their build-ing (in case of an emergency), we have created these stations.

What will be at the Volunteer Station? The Volunteer Station is a location

for: volunteer information, hours reporting, one-to-one visit report-

ing. For convenience purposes, it can be found near Therapist or Activity areas.

TB TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS

This month we would like to introduce some of our Hospice Volunteers and Pet Therapy pets. The ThedaCare and Heart-land Hospice volunteers bring smiles and comfort to our members who have elected to use hospice services. Their selfless service to our honored veterans and their families is greatly appreciated!

If you wish to learn more about be-coming a Hospice Volunteer with either Heartland or Thedacare contact:

Flu and Masking Reminder

We are still masking for Flu season! If you have not provided us with informa-tion stating you have received your flu shot and do not have a yellow sticker on your Volunteer badge, you will need to wear a mask while volunteering on campus until this provision is lifted (usu-ally in March or April). Masks can be found in each nursing building and at the Marden Center. At King, we mirror the same masking requirements as the local hospital.

If you wish to provide us with informa-tion of where you received your flu shot, please bring in proof and we will put this in your volunteer record and give you a yellow sticker for your name badge.

l All registered volunteers are required to complete a 2 step TB Skin test, per CDC guidelines.l Volunteers have the option of having it read at King by our Employee Health Nurse between 48 and 72 hours later or by an RN, LPN, or MD. l Volunteers who do not live close to WVH-King can have the 2 - Step TB skin test done at a location convenient to them, but will be asked to provide proof of results to WVH-King Employee Health Nurse, (contact information listed below).l After the first step is completed, the second step must be administered within a week to a month. If the second step exceeds one month, the process will have to be restarted.
